I have a 2002 Quad Cab 2500 longbed with a Cummins and a 6 speed. The truck has 18k miles on it and my average mileage hovers around 15. 5 around town empty and 12. 0 towing to the Max allowable of 20k lbs.

I noticed that the diff lockout on the front end (right axle)was omitted from my truck. I believe that running those front gears all the time is worth at least . 5 to 1 mpg.

Shopping around for automatic or even manual locking hubs has proven fruitless. Is there any way I can get Dodge to install it under warranty? Any ideas out there??

lockout

yup, it's gone. Dodge did away with it for '02 they won't install it under warranty because in their eyes, the truck isn't broken. If you want it then I suggest that you consider swapping axle assemblys with another member.

A recent thread about this https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=77451

There is a company that makes an expensive kit to put real locking hubs on, try a search for "center axle disconnect"

 On the plus side at least your dealers trained monkeys cant improperly connect the vacuum lines when they change the transfer case then send your wife home 60 miles with the 4x4 light flashing (meaning the disconnect shifter is floating splines together at 75 mph grinding the ends off) so now it takes 3 tries to engage the disconnect:mad:
