2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Front drive shaft u joint peices

I had 265,000 miles on the origional u joints and this weekend the front u joint on the front drive shaft broke while pulling my trailer out to hunting camp. After removing the clips, I had to beat the snot out of the rear u joints on the front shaft to get the shaft off so I could get home and some "stuff" fell out of this extra post and got lost in the snow. The pictures are of the post and the hole it came out of. Can someone tell me what this is and, what may have fallen out that I need to replace besides the regular u joints?

There is a bearing and seal that also go in there. If you ask for a rebuild kit for the front drive shaft it will come with all the bits and pieces you need. I have done mine twice in my 98. Once with dealership parts and once with parts from NAPA.
