It's time to rebuild the front driveshaft and I want to replace the non-greaseable u-joints with Spicer greaseable u-joints.

Is there any particular need-to-know in orienting the new u-joints so their zerks won't interfere with the spining of the double cardan?

I assume the zerks need to face the front of the truck in order to access the zerks. Once installed will I be able to get a grease gun on the u-joint zerks or will I need to use a needle for the u-joints like with the ball in the double cardan?

Thanks.

Thanks for your response. I'm always interestedi in your opinion.

I've run into the fitment issue. Although Spicer provided external spring clamps in three diff sizes I still had to plane down their thinnist spring clamp to be able to insert it.

I’m just the opposite I guess from most , I want greasable joints . My truck has free spin hubs and greasable joints anywhere I replace them . If you install 45* fittings on the CV , greasing the joints are a bit easier . Use the straight fitting and take it down spring and fall grease the joints and the ball and your good for many many miles
