Thanks to all the regular contributors for the wealth of information shared here! So far, all my questions have been answered simply by reading, but now I need to tap into the knowlege pool!

My 92 regular cab (CTD, Getrag 5 sp, all stock) has a habit of eating up the CV joint on the front drive shaft, even when I go out of my way to try to keep it clean and lubed. This will be about the 5th time I have had to repair or replace it, and I can't imagine someone hasn't found a solution. But, as of now I haven't come across it.

If anyone knows of a solution either with OEM or aftermarket sources I'd love to hear it. Any and all suggestions welcome!

Check and make sure all the grounding points from axle to suspension to frame are good. When the wheels are turning they build up static electricity and has to be discharged somewhere. If it doesn't go through the frame of the truck this will continue to fry cv joints/ wheel bearings. Saw this in a buddys truck after we lifted it and forgot the grounding straps.

Hmmmm, never heard of that! I just had the front end resprung and new shocks put in. Got about 170K on it and I've had this problem since it was new, so maybe it's been the same problem all along.
