the u joints on my front driveshaft are shot! I took a quick look at them and they don't look rebuildable. any of you have any experience with this? does someone rebuild these or sell new units? it still works but is on borrowed time! this last winter plowing killed it!

The most price/quality is usually had from a driveline shop. They can rebuild it back to new quality at a fraction of the replacement cost using quality parts

YES! As it has been said several times in replies, it is rebuildable. You can also choose grease able or non greaseable U-joints for the double cardan joint , the front u-joint at the front axle pinion. If you do not have a grease fitting on the slip joint? Make sure that you consider that option, also! Some of those front driveshafts only have one grease fitting, thats on the inner ball of the double cardan joint!
We have Drive Train Industries, here. I don't know who is available in your locale. Any reputable driveline shop should be able to set you up!

I had to replace all of the yokes on my 92 and both drive lines the front was a drive line shop the other was from a wrecking yard .
For some reason my yokes egg shaped for some reason , i think it was from the past owner abuse how ever i went to u bolts rather than strap type yokes

thanks for all the replies. i'll see if there is a shop around here that can do it. had to tow my buddy's 1895 chevy army 5/4 ton. starter bolt snapped again! reminded me of this post.

quad 4x4 has everything you need to replace the u joints there kits have steal seals in the caps and they are really good quality the kits have the parts for the pocket bearing to that is where i got my parts for my gen one front shaft
