I was doing my 5k mile service on the '05 today when I noticed a sticker under the hood. The sticker is on the radiator support and says to lube the front driveshaft at every service. The picture seems to show the double joint at the t-case end. It then says to see the owners manual for further instructions.

I swore I checked for fittings and didn't find any. I crawled under and checked again, I still didn't see a fitting  The owners manual simply states that all u-joints are permanently greased and require no service.

Does anybody with this little sticker have a clue as to what they want you to grease? Has anybody found a fitting down there on either end or the slip joint? The t-case skid plate is in the way so it is tough to see, did I just miss it or is the sticker a mistake?

I don't have an '05, but my guess is they're talking about the slip joint in the front driveshaft. Probably the way to lube it is to pull back the rubber boot, slop in some grease, and then resecure the boot.

Just a guess...

I thought of that but, there is an arrow in the picture pointing to the actual u-joint. The pic doesn't even show the whole shaft, just the one part. I think the slip joint rubber is clamped down too, it would require a special tool and new band.

Well, that's a pickle. Maybe the sticker is misplaced? Is it a double cardan type joint on the front shaft? If it is, there may be a ball-and-socket in the center of the assembly that requires some lube. Don't know what the official name is for it. I think some people also call the double cardan joint a CV joint.
