Clunk!

Well

I too have a clunk or two.

Check the u-joints at the front hubs.

Then check the the rest of the u-joints.

after that check the rear end.

I have a nice, loud clunk coming from my rear end.

inspection has revealed worn spider gear thrust washers.

I'm sure it's from too many peg leg burnies.

any way I'm savin the bucks for a new rear end.

looks like i'll try the bearing preload tomorrow. i will also shoot some grease in the joint on the borgeson. i got one of those needle attachments for the grease gun today.

does anyone know where to get one of the spanner wrenches called out for in the bearing preload tsb? i tried napa, carquest, etc. in town. no luck... ...

Shendren try Harbor freight tools I bought a whole spanner wrench set for about $14 prison made of course, China. It worked great all I had to do is file the stubs down on the end of the spanner so they would fit into the holes on the nut.
