I am interested in getting a front end level kit for my 2500 4x4. My question is what size do I need to get. I saw various kits from 1 to 2 1/2 inches and dont know which one to get. All I want to do is get a little more space between the front wheels and the rear of the wheel wells. If I am not turning the wheels there is space, but if I hit a large bump and have the wheels turned, they come in contact with the wheel wells. I have 305's on there and thats the problem. Any idea's? Also, what does the level kit do to performace when towing. I assume that the front is lower to try and bring it even when you have a load in there. Thanks

I got my 2" leveling kit from jackit.com. The truck now sets level and everyone wants to know where I got my lift kit, and all I did was install the leveling kit on the front. Great quality and price.

Leveling Kits

I also have installed Jack-Its kit and my truck now sits level. As previously stated the fit and finish is very good. The instructions, however, are much too simplified. They say nothing about disconnecting your brake line attachment clips (on the differential), disconnecting the axle. . er. . disconnect vacuum and wiring. These steps are needed to allow maximum diff droop. Even with these extra minor steps I still needed external spring compressors to fit the shock/spring/isolator/spacer stack in the available space. The entire job took 4 hours.

Be very, very careful with your spring compressors, either internal or external.

I had a front shop put mine on. They only charged $100, and I thought, there is no way I'm going to drop that axle assembly for that, and they could do it much faster.

I installed 2" spacers and it looks much better now. I don't think it did much for the clearance at the rear of the wheel wells though. I feel to do it right you also need longer control arms because as you increase the space between the truck and the axle, the axle moves back. Also the stock shocks are too short. I still have them because not too long before I installed the kit I put Rancho RS9000's on there. They are fine most of the time but they will hit the end on some bumps and may also cut down on how much the truck can twist while out 4x4ing.
