Hi Folks,

Does anybody know of a good front-end mechanic/shop in the Boston area?

I live in South Shore.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

There is a good place right in Boston. Bay State Spring. It is a family owned and operated by 3 brothers Eddie, Joel and Harold. Good people they have been treating me and my family well for over 40 years. The phone number is (617) 445-6692. They do everything from Ford Fiestas to Off road trucks. I am rebuilding a 1965 Dodge Power Wagon and they had a NEW set of brake drums on the shelf!:--)

If your inspection stations are like those I had to visit in other eastern states, they are often a combination of ignorance + scam. I'd be sure the joints are really bad first. Many of us have way over 100K on the front end. At about 140K I needed a track bar and the tie rod end that attaches to the pitman arm. Rest is original. I'll change front hubs this week since I am going to new rotors when I change the right front u joint. Point is that the lubed for life stuff lasts pretty well if they use good grease; only getting 55K is suspicious.

Don't know what part of the South Shore you're from, but in the Middleboro area is Kellys Tire on rt 28 just south of the Middleboro rotary. Off of exit 6 rt 495. They work on everything, but also do their fair share of trucks and RVs. They are straight shooters in there, no BS. I havn't had an allingment done there, but they have hooked me up on a few other odds and ends. (flared an ex pipe I brought them for my straight pipe, transfered 36" super swampers for my Jeep from old rims to new etc. . ) all reasonably priced. Nice folks, family business.

Not affiliated blah blah, just believe in passing the word when you recieve great customer service. See sig. .

Oh yeah, if its anything else you don't want to tackle yourself outside of allingment ... . look up MASSDIESEL. (link in my sig)

Nope, not affiliated with them either, just a happy customer.

BAY STATE SPRING

GOOD PLACE-I was going to suggest the same place, they custom made some longer U-bolts for my 77 power wagon and a set of springs for my ramcharger,YES I have three Dodge trucks:D . I go by it every day on my way to work. HIGHLY RECOMMEND that place.
