This has accured many times since truck was new:

When towing 3000lb wells cargo up grade or passing uphill with trailer on. At about 26-2800RPM I get a light but noticable shake in the front accompanied by a faint knocking sound. Could it be from unweighting the front tires? The frontend has always pulled

slightly to the right. Anybody have any ideas. If I back off slightly it stops. Does not do it in OD.

I have a friend in town with the same problem.

He just redid the complete front end, with original parts.

What causes this problem??

it's not the DEATH WOBBLE,,, maybe a small version of it ??

My Friend said, when towing and near or @ WOT the frontend would shake around a bit.

I'm with tcourse on this one.

What causes this ??

shake

Thanks for the response Merrick, If this is a problem I sure would like to know. I'm well past factory warranty, but have 100k extended. Not to sure it would be covered, have to check

It is not an isolated incident. I could hook up my trailor and go out and make it happen at will.

Dumb question? This scenario is the only time the truck is at this RPM.

I don't know what the problem is, but I have a theory.

If you are going to get driveline whip, these would likely be the conditions you would get it. Now, if the front end is a little weak and the shake frequency happens to be the same, the driveline may be exiting the front end to shake.

Just a theory.....
