Friend of mine is having symptons of the death wobble. Searched on here and read alot about the king pin. His seems to be when he makes turns, more when he turns to the left. Does anybody remember what TDR issue this was in? He said they jacked the front end up and pushed up on the tire and it didn't have much slop in it. Any ideas?

If it's when he turns check the front u-joint. I had one going on mine and when I would turn it would throw the truck around a bit. The true death wooble is mostly at speeds of 35 and above and when you hit a bump it throws the wheels out of phase and causes them to ... . well wooble! It's sometimes like riding a bull! I have found it has everything to do with the front alinement in some way(worn parts, worn tires. . etc). I put a steering stabalizer on mine and it knocked it down a lot. I grease the front alot and my king pin bushings are like new. If I have a load and the front is up and hit a bump it wants to do it still.

I just had my 1st adventure with this , got truck truck with 209,000 , in the last couple yrs I have replaced all u-joints , upper & lower ball joints , tires twice , Centramatics , Solid Steel Stabilizer .
I just had the truck off the ground a few days ago , greased & lubed , felt everything , its all tight , truck 264,000 now , I was on a left turning freeway , all of the sudden the left front tire started bouncing , had to slowly brake & pull to slow lane before it stopped .
So I want to call it a death bounce , not wobble .
