oldie but a goodie.

I have questions, i am familiar with and have torn and put back together a few d60s, but never replaced these seals and everytime it was a regear at the same time. So my question is do you have to set the gears back up again? i had someone else set up the regears before. I do not have the case spreader, but dont really want to spend money for somone else to do it.

But i have put off the leaky seal long enough and now she really pours out. Need to do it very soon.

Talk to me, need to know.

thinking of a lock right while i am at it.

BTW she only has 51,000 miles damn seal anyways.

You shouldn't have to do a reset. All the shims will be under the bearings. Just pop the carrier assy out. Then install your new seals. Do not use the seals from a parts store. Use Dodge seals. The original seals have a metal guide lip built into them. Aftermarket seals do not. The axle will wipe out the aftermarkets seals when you reinstall them.

If you can find a 2" bore brush it works good for cleaning out all the trash in the axle tubes. This is most likely what took the orginal seals out.

I have a 2" brush if you want to cover shipping both way.
