hey I got a 2 inch leveling front end kit installed on my truck today with new shocks and aligned for 500. 00. this guy Shawn from Jones truck and auto hooked me up. They will do anything. I highly recomend. . Jones t and a Ohio 513-625-5333...

Could you throw out some more information on that. Are they poly spacers. What kind of Shocks. Do they specialize in this sort of thing??

Thanks

THat seems high. Check in the classifieds, there is a guy selling them for 100 and you can get shocks preferably bilstiens for a reasonable price at a local auto store. The spacer install was a piece of cake took about an hour with new shocks.

The spacers are machined steel, shocks are from napa and everything they do at least has a 12/12 warantie. They are a great group of guys three of the to be exact and straight shooters I wanted a bigger fuel plate and they told me that it would tear out my transmission and they would not do it. I had it in my hand and they sent me away. I really respected that. I was told what they felt was right and bought that one and had it done. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH ALL THE WORK I HAVE DONE. Shawn knows his $&^%!

Do you have a site that has the install directions for the spacers?

My girlfriend gave me a set for X-mas and I'd like to get them in. I'm pretty sure I can do it, but i'd just like to see a good set of directions.

Thanks guys.

When I did mine I spent 125 for springs, 125 for install labor, about 125 for Bilsteins and about 80 for the alignment so it's close to a good price

I have been looking at having the front end leveled on mine as well. What will I need for the complete job, and which ones and where can I get the springs and such?

Summit

Summit racing is where I got my Skyjacker coils and I believe it was Off-Road Warehouse that I got the Bilstein shocks from, somewhere amongst the many threads (search) is one that talks all about the part numbers for Bilstein shocks and prices from ORW including a TDR discount that use to apply and might still but I am not sure

You can go with either coil spring spacers and the stock springs, or the Skyjacker replacement coils (d25 I think). Either way you will have to have new shocks as the stock ones will limit travel. If tire clearance on turning is an issue you may also need or want longer link arms to re-center the axle and address castor issues.

A lot of folks have the d25's and love them, but I started with Daystar poly spacers.

Having 2 floor jacks and some beaffy jack stands can make this a much easier job.

just my 2c

It is pretty much straight forward.

Jack truck up and use beefy jackstands under frame so the suspension is at full droop (needs to be about six inches minimum off floor)

Take off tires, unhook the swaybar from both sides, unbolt the bracket that holds the brake lines to the axle so you wont stretch them. Take out lower shock bolts. Use second bottle jack to GENTLY give yourself the added room you need. Pull bottom of spring out of mount. Pull down and remove spring at this point. Reach up inside and pull the rubber grommet out of the space below the shock towers. Remove nuts from shock tower and pull the ring with the studs from the same area as the rubber grommet. Put spacer (assuming steel) studs up through the holes for the shock tower bolts, Re-attach shock tower. Put the rubber grommet on the bottom of the steel spacer, then work the factory spring back to where it came out of makikng sure the tail end of the spring rides in the proper 'hole' that is meant for the tail end of spring. Look before you take apart or run to other side to confirm where placement goes. (If you replace shocks at same time I would leave the shock out till last then install them from the top) Release bottle jack and finish installing shock.

Do the same for other side.

When both sides are done re-connect the sway-bar. Attach the brake lines back where they belong. Throw the tires on and that is that. It took me and a buddy about 30-35 minutes to do both sides (not changing shocks) Not at all as complicated as it seems.

Id say go for it.

Hope this helps and I am sure if I forgot something someone will speak up.

Do you have to have front end aligned? I have a set of spacer I bought to go on a 1500, but traded for my 2500 and still want to install them. I bought Rancho rsx shocks for a 2 inch lifted ram to go with the spacers. Funny thing is the shocks have same part # for a 1500 and a 2500. JC

 Just dont do it to a 98 4x2, when I did so, I had a nightmare, wont even explain!!! So I did the next and only right thing, I went out and spent a ton of $ on a 01 4X4, DAY AND NIGHT DIFFERENCE!!! WOULDNT HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY!!!:p

Leveling Out 2WD

Any ideas/tips on leveling out 95 2WD? The body height difference (from ground to body) between front of rear wheels and back of front wheels is 1 1/2" to 2" on my truck.

Longer springs? Spring spacers? Any info would be appreaciated. TIA

I was told when I bought my spacers that new shocks were not required. But I bought shocks because the spacers were for my 1500 Ram with Off Road package which was already 2 inches taller than a regular Ram. JC
