Hey,

I keep getting stuck!!! Does anybody know of a good, reliable locker for the front diff? I've never had a locker, don't know how they work, so I'm starting here! :)

Thanks!

I've been looking for a locker for about 8 months and still haven't found one for our trucks. If you come across one, post it please. I would think the manufacturers would come out with them soon. I want an Eaton locker.

One could always get the locker they are using in the '05 power wagon to use in the front axle, although I think they are using a 10. 5" rear in the power wagon, and not the 11. 5".

Otherwise, I have not seen any available aftermarket yet.

and???

The '05 p/w and 03+ 3/4 and 1 tons use the 9. 25 front, the rear axle is where I was saying there would be a difference, on some trucks. Depends on the rear end.

If you are definitely wanting a "locker", then be sure it is of the selectable type. This means you decide when it's locked and unlocked(either electronically or air controlled).

This is because there is no "unlock" mode in the front hubs. With a front locker(full-time) and no selectable hubs, you will have steering issues on hard, dry surfaces.

Just my two cents worth.

Yup, what I'm looking for is one that is fully engaged, or fully disengaged based on a switch, valve, etc. I don't want anything like limited slip technology in the front. It makes enough racket in the rear end. :)

not completely true there. if you aren't in 4x4 then you won't have any torque going to the front, therefor making it react in a locked position. you may notice some change, but it won't be like having it dropped in 4lo and trying to make a tight turn. you could go with something like a lock right if they come out with one.

AAM designs, manufactures all manner of lockers for our axle assys. Haven't needed one, so I haven't really looked too close at their website. But the lockers are all described and all one need do is pick up the phone and call.
