I think I found my intermittant vibration.

The front U Joint can move side to side atleast 1/8". :--) The Yoke itself is tight with no play.

How did this thing center itself? I feel foolish for not remembering but it's not exactly my 85 ford bronco. Did this thing have a ridge or small ears that the caps rested behind? 30,000 miles of play has worn it so I thought I had better ask.

I replaced the joint spring of 2004 and developed the shake in Sept or Oct.

I've been running down other possible causes and never thought it could have been the front yoke until I removed my Fuel heater and nudged the driveshaft.

Beyond that, who sells a quality highgrade yoke that fits these trucks?

Thanks for any help.

There's 2 small "bumps" on both sides of the yoke that hold the u joint from moving side to side.

New yoke? Spicer. For a D30 they are ~$40 (put one in my Jeep not long ago). I'd guess $50-60 for a D60
