front radiator protection 2004

Lots of dents showing up, including little rocks/big bugs stuck between the fins, and people leaning on the top egde, ouch!! Should one go with Geno's Condeser guard, or screen door material?? seams a little weak of Dodge to put such a delicate thing up front without some sort of protection . Flying road rocks are great, arent they. I stay back but hea "Rock Happens" :-laf :-laf I'm half thinking of repalcing the front plastic grills with some industrial galv screen of some sort. Any input???

I'd be concerned about decreased air flow to the radiator and possibly higher engine temps as a result.

I've always run window screen on my CTD's. It may decrease the airflow slightly but not as much as bugs and debris that build up in a very short time. I've never had any kind of overheating problem and I tow quite heavy. There have been many posts on this subject over the years and most agree a screen doesn't restrict as much as dirt and bugs.

I bet the Race Mesh stuff the rice boys put on their front grills would work pretty well too. It's fairly open and looks easy enough to work with.

this was the first mod I did, genos condensor guard with window screen. The window screen I cut to fit and it was long enough to zip-tie to the sway bar. Just take some compressed air and all is clean.
