Hello,

I am prerforming a Dana 60 & 70 gear ratio change and I have most of the parts. I am looking for the part numbers for the seals and bearings in the hubs. ( front & rear). Most of the parts shops give us the wrong parts. Is there any parts number manuals at a reasonable price? (175. 00 is not reasonable). Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Roy Arnold

How about FREE on-line Spicer catalogs. . ????:D

Roy, Here is a link to the Spicer Light Duty Parts Manual that will cover what you have. Now bear in mind that this works off of the assembly number of the rear ends to make any sense for some parts.

Read down through it once just to get an overview, then get the assembly / bill of material from each of your rear ends if they still exist. If they are missing I think you can do it from the application index. Then it should make sense. I will on here by spells over the weekend, let me know if I can help you interpret anything.

Once you get the Spicer part numbers just about any parts store should be able to cross them into whatever they stock. Sometimes you just gotta' take matters into your own hands... ... ... :D

Some parts stores will not have good info on parts for 3/4 ton trucks and the Cummins, they have a tendency to give you parts for a gasser, a lighter duty pickup. Sometimes you have to have them look under 1-ton. Bearings and seals should not be hard to come by. Most parts houses can number match off the old parts.

Amen Brother, I bet that I have uttered the phrase "Over 8800 GVW" a hundred times and they still don't pay attention half of the time.....

Now I just look it up myself.

While hunting up the catalog for Roy just now I stumbled across the part number for the needle bearing that supports the inner right hand axle on the '97 that Dodge says it does not have... ... :D

Thats the price of dealing with chain stores half the time you have to talk to some who belongs no where near a truck.

Id call one of six states locations they are distributrs for Dana and spicer etc . Or call Randys Ring and pinion .

All though your changeing componets the seals and bearings should not change they should all have numbers that a bearing house can find as well

For myself, I usually use Inland Truck parts or Truck Pro, to get Spicer or Dana parts... . Randy's Ring and Pinion is a good, source, too, but be sure you're talking to a knowledgable sales rep who knows the Dodges... . Orielly's CAN get some of the parts, but sometimes, it's not worth the argument over the counter..... Or the stupid head shake and the repetitious,"we can't get that. " Yeah. They don't get it.....

Gear change done. Need some numbers to fix the speedometer. What are the numbers of the 354 gear ratio out of 205 tranfer case. I need the both of them.
Thanks,
Roy
