That looks good . Have to see what I can come up with. I had thought about just modifying the dss with a weld on receiver hitch but I don't think I like that idea

I do not think you want anything attached to the DSS tube that would put forces against the steering box extension. I spent about an hour going thru a pile of remove receive hitch at the junk yard.

Here are some of the leftover pieces.

I really like that idea . I see that different brands look like the hook to the truck in different places . I like the way you made yours mount the best out of what I saw I'm not much of a builder fabricator so I may end up just buying something . I don't need it often but I really hate getting stuck and not having anywhere to hook onto

I have a front hitch and a steering brace on my 2002 Sport. I believe the hitch is Hidden Hitch. No problems mounting both. The only problem I had was the Sport does not have the valance like on SNOKING's, so it had to be modified to clear the bumper. They are handy, I got a step mounted in mine. Makes getting under the hood a lot easier.

So you do not have the factory tow hooks? Get those first if you just want a tow point. SNOKING

I had a Curt front reciever on my 01 along with a DSS. It's been long enough for me to get fuzzy on the details, but I can't remember any fitment issues.
On the '01, I went with the front hitch instead of tow hooks. The curt hitch will go right through the airdam. They say you can remove it, but I just cut a square hole in it and it looked great.

I read an older post of yours and you stated that the rear bolt on the curt hitch didn't line up, was about a half a hole off. Did you drill that hole out or did you mount the hitch without that bolt? I have an '01 like yours and I'm thinking I could have the same problem if I go with the curt. I really don't want to drill the frame but if I could enlarge the hole on the hitch I could live with that.

The install video is on a '95 ram, same hitch number, and shows the front and rear holes lining up but says that the middle hole may have to be drilled in some applications.

I've had a Drawtite front receiver and dss for some time now. Works great together and I think adds even more stability to the front steering. I seem to recall needing a slightly longer bolt to go thru both and into the imbedded nut in the frame.
