I have a 99 2500 2wd. I have 47k miles. My front shocks feel mushy. Should they be worn out at this mileage, and if so what is a good replacement?

From reading other posts about shocks, 50K sounds reasonable for them to be dying. The two most popular brand replacements are Rancho 9000's adjustable, and Bilsteins. I am going with the Bilsteins myself in a couple months when I add a front end leveling kit to my truck.

Yes, they are shot. I have not had a factory shock last over 15K miles on my truck. I have the Rancho 9K's, and would pay double for them again. Best shock I have ever driven.

I have Bilsteins and I'm very happy with them. I had the same front end bounce and oh what a difference compared to stock. I think my stock shocks were gone by 25K miles.

Just ordered the Bilsteins for mine, I have 38,000 on my truck. I went with the Bilsteins because of having them on past trucks. I am sure that the Rancho's are also very good shocks.
