Has anyone had the recall for the 2005, 3500 dually front spring replacement done. I stopped at dealer last week to have it done and they ordered new springs and they sure look larger then what is on the truck now and wonder if it will make the front end sit higher or cause the truck to ride harsher on the front. Small dealership and they did not have the tools needed to install the springs so now they are waiting for new tools to arrive before they can complete the job, also had a hard time finding a shop that could do the front end alignment they I insisted needed to be done after changing our the springs. Finally found a local tire shop that could handle the dually.

I have had the recall done, yes new springs look a lot stronger. I don't think it really altered the ride height of my truck. I think it actually rides better because the front spring is stronger and thus the front end does not bounce repeatedly after hitting a bump. Noticed that the front end does not occillate nearly as easily with my trailer compared to before. Make sure that Dodge is paying for the alignment, not you. It is covered and it is covered for a full alignment. IE: setting camber, caster and toe to spec. Not just resetting toe. That said my truck only needed a toe set. I double checked it on my own alignment machine.

This recall (E10) was only for some of the 2005 heavy duty trucks that had the wrong spring installed at the factory. They notified the owners by mail that thier truck was involved and it was a voluntary recall that they called a "customer satifaction recall".

Thanks for the feedback, will have it done as soon as the dealer gets the proper tools to do it with, and will watch per your advice on the front end alignment.

had mine done about a month ago. doesnt seem to sit any higher. does seem to ride a bit better in the front. do insist on the full front end alignment. mine also had to be sent to an outside shop for the align because it is a dually.
