Front Wheel Hubs/Bearings

Help.

I've have a loose front wheel bearing assembly on the RHS of my 03. 5 CTD.

Had the dealer's service department check it and they concluded that it is in need of replacement. Unfortunately, wheel bearings are not replaceable. The front hub assy must be replaced as a complete unit.

According the the service department, the assembly is NOT part of the 7/70 powertrain warranty. I have 61,000 miles on the truck.



I have the service manual and the tools to remove/replace the hub assy. Does anyone have a source for the hub assys at a better price other than from Dodge? BTW the cost for each is about $252. 00 from Tenafly Chrysler online parts. List is $360. 00

No online sources I'm aware of (www.quad4x4.com doesn't have them yet). I'd take the $252 price...

It might be a good time to invest in a dynatrack front hub set, uses traditional front bearings, there is a group but going on now if it isn't over. Or you may be able to get somebody's used cartridges cheap that has changed thiers out. The dyna front hub kit is in the neighborhood of $1600. 00, looks expensive until you price the stock dodge front wheel bearings. Plus you get hubs again.

I just got a call my from the shop with the same problem, front passanger bearing went out at 53,000. Oh lets not forget the ball joints that went out also. This might be my first and last dodge.
