I'm getting ready to replace everything under the front end, (tie rod, track bar, steering stabilizer, control arms,). I'm considering Thuren and Solid Steel.

My question is, is this the best way to go for durability and longevity?

Also my 97 3500 4x4 has dual stabilizer shocks, did only the 3500's come with two?

I would strongly recommend the thuren bar. I see no reason why it should not last for a very long time. The beauty of it is that it is easier to install and you do not have to drill any holes which can cause problems later on.

I don't know the answer to your question about the steering stabilizer but my truck only came with one.

I would recommend using polyurethane bushings and everyplace you would use rubber. Lasts longer and is durable.

EKlem,

Solidsteel advertises no drilling or welding on their 3rd gen. bracket conversion. I haven't put one on myself but looking to soon.

I ended up replacing one ball joint, all tie rods, track bar, both stabilizer shocks, two stabilizer bar bushings and links. took the 3 inch spacer's out of the front, and replaced with a one inch, also added a DT Steering stabilizer.

I didn't have the chance to get the Thuren track bar because of time, but will next time.

The 97 drives as good as the 03 I had, if not better now.

The only thing I have noticed is now I have a rattle, sort of ? It sounds almost like a shock riding on a bolt when its not tight enough, (if that makes any since) ? It's a clunking sound under the floor. Can't seem to find it yet.
