My buddy's '05 is in dire need of ball joints. Anybody in San Diego area you guys could recommend? What aftermarket parts would you recommend? Thanks

Up here in the NW we have Les Schwaab. They sell a offset ball joint that is supposed to take care of the pull to the right. My brother-in-law has had them put the offset joint on his 03 and 07 and he claims that it took care of the pull to the right.

I have yet to do it because I have not needed them replaced yet, but I plan on having them put the offset ones in.

You want to go to East County Alignment on the corner of Mission Gorge and Magnolia in Santee. They have been around for years. They are excellent at what they do as well as honest. As for parts, MOOG is always an excellent choice.

As for pulling to the right, remember that the crown of the road is in the center and for drainage purposes, the slant is to the right. Most vehicles will pull to the right if the alignment specs aren't set to compensate for it. I had my truck aligned once at Preston's in La Mesa. They sent me away and the truck had a slight pull to the right. The tech told me it was in spec, but I had to tell them what to set it at so it didn't pull, they did and it didn't pull anymore. With East County Alignment, I didn't have to tell them anything, it went straight down the road the first time.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the input! I had my '99 done there years ago. All work begins and ends with a test drive. It's been five years since I was there and you never know about recent performance. I'll pass the info on. As far as pulling to the right, neither mine nor my buddy's exhibit this trait. The road crown will influence that of course. The 3rds. really track nicely.
