Hi i have a 01 4x4 it apears that the frount axle breather is leaking . I think it coming out from the top in the engine compartment. I park it in frount of my house on the street pointing up hill . Its never done this before and i have,nt touched the frount axle since i got the truck almost two years ago. We moved into this house in December so this is one of the first hot days i have parked like this . Could the problem be the heat and the angle im parked causeing this or something new ?

I'm not sure what's causing yours do do this but mine did this when I filled the diff all the way up until fluid ran out the fill hole. It is supposed to be a 1/2" below that I think and I have not had any trouble since lowering the level a little.

Mine went *blorp* in late January. Maybe 2 ounces at most. Saw it on the driveway and thought "what the flip?" And sure enough, it came from the vent tube. Can the front axle be warming up enough to expand the air in there and push out a bubble of lube? Maybe so! My guess is that it's just a fluke and it isn't going to happen on a regular basis. Mike

Cool thanks for the replys im hopeing thats all it is. My girl freind took it by a local shop i like to go to and they said it should be ok . Just keep an eye on it and see if it keeps doing it.

My 99 "weeped" the whole time I owned it, seemed to be worse on long hauls between So Ca and Wa St.

I consider it normal, no worries.

Mac

Mine has puked twice. Both times after a 1-2 hour highway cruise after having been parked passenger side low. The lube collects in the CAD housing on the pass side where the vent tube is also exiting, then blows out through the tube.

Since changing to Redline Shockproof Heavy lube it hasn't done it again.
