Without having to look back through all the post, could you guy's give me some info on using both fuel additives and injector cleanors? Do's and Dont's, any certain brands, etc. .

Thanks,

LK:confused:

I use it, buy it in larger quanities and save $$. I use Rotella DFA get it at Sam's Club 4-96 oz bottles for $33. 00 plus if you go to Rotella web sight you can get a rebate request form for $8. 00, so it ends up costing $25. 00 or . 02 cents per treated gallon. It does what they all claim to do, keep fuel from freezing, cleans injectors etc. etc. You can also buy Power Service, which several members use, and their are several other brands. Now the question about if you need it??? Thats up to you. Cummins says that you don't need it and just use winterized fuel during the cold months.

I'm a believer.......

LK... .

I've used Redline, LE, Howes Diesel Treat, and Howes Meaner Power Cleaner. Since I've used it from the first tank of fuel, I have no way of knowing if if helps with better mileage, but I seriously doubt it.

It does quiet down the engine which I think confirms the lubricity claim. All brands did this, but Howes MPC seems to quiet the most. That's good enough justification for me.

I think this is a topic of personal preference.

I tried a few too. IMO the Howes MPC was a little louder than the others, go figure  Illflem was able to "test" a few different additive on a long trip he took. He said he seen the best mileage improvement with the Howes MPC.

I think most I've tried have helped with mileage a bit. It seems like I can get a few more miles on a tank that I had an additive in then if I didn't add any. This may be due more to driving habits than the actual additive, who knows.

IMHO, I think it is a good idea to add an additive to every tank of fuel.

FWIW - I prefer the LE DCI +
