Before I retired I worked in the oil industry and was surprised with the fuel injector cleaners they were selling on the market and putting into the fuels. At that time there were 6 manufactures making it. They had the same chemicals, but the formula was 'slightly' different. One would have a few more ounces "per batch" of one chemicals verses the others, but the base chemicals were the same in all brands with providers different names. Also, there might be a different recommend amount per 10 gallons of fuel you mix it with, but in reality, insignificant. Also the base stock of gasoline and diesel is the same from company to company, just the final additives for octane / cetane were different, the same rational as in the above mentioned cleaners. That is why I don't have a certain special brand of fuel or additives I use. Just how much do I want to pay.
