Who all use's fuel additives in their CTD. And what are the benifits. Reconmendations on a good additive for the CTD.

I've had an injector pump rebuild place tell me to use any additive - they don't care which one as long as you use something. They swear it makes a big difference to the life of your pump.

I have been using the Lucas Upper Cylinder Lubricant fuel additive (it was recommended by a local diesel shop). It is only about $19. 00/gallon at the local parts store.

I haven't placed my CTD order yet, but I use Power Service in my 2001 VW. I started using the white bottle in cold weather when it was about a year old, and use the gray bottle in the summer, about every other tank, at least. It's like I tell people about fuel injector cleaner, I don't know if it works, but I've never had any driveability problems.

I use Power Service in the grey bottle; it boots cetane by 6 numbers vs. the whtie bottle at only 3. I notice a big difference of a tank with it vs. without. Compare to super unleaded and regular.

I use nothing but good ol' diesel fuel in mine. Be careful what you put in the tank. A water dispersing additive will defeat the water separator and foul your injectors. You will be very disappointed with the results.

i can't remember what my additive is called, but it is made by valvoline. boosts cetane and some other goodies there too. i still have like 4 or 5 1 liter bottles left over from when i had my tahoe. .

I use Shell Rotella DFA. Get it for a great price at a local oil distributor. Says it does everything and Shell is a big company so that is good enough for me. Use it in every tank of fuel.
