1995 3500 REAL crew cab on ebay

Happy Thanksgiving

This is frustrating the heck outta me. I have some "Blitz" fuel containers. I have two 5-gallon yellow ones for diesel, and two 5-gallon ones for gas (red). They are all I can find, and none of them have vents. What the crap is up with that? With no vent, it just makes a mess and leaks thru the threads of the spout.

Has anyone found lately any fuel containers that have a vent, like they are supposed to? These ones from "Blitz" are a flippin' joke!!

The secret to the new Blitz plastic cans that don't have a visible vent is that the filler spout has a separate vent tube in it. I think it stems from a California environmental regulation that limits venting vapors to open atmosphere, and this tries to keep them closer to the tank.

They do tend to slow down, then do a big burp, then flow freely again, but I actually prefer them--I don't think I've ever had an old style one that didn't lose or break a vent, and they always leaked. At least with these, there's only one opening to try to keep sealed, and I've had pretty good luck with carrying them without them leaking. Actually, I've also had really good luck with the filler spout not leaking around the threads, too.

Since the hurricanes, I've accumulated a total of nine of the red ones (to keep the generator running) and two yellow ones, along with a fair amount of experience using them.
