2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Fuel capacity

When my tank is low and the warning comes on, I usually put 26-27 gallons in it, far short of the 35 gal max. Is this typical? Its not enough that I'm gonna drop the tank and change sending units (I don't think), but just wanted to know. Thanks. .

It's normal. I've got 500 miles on my current tank, and it's just dropped below 1/2 tank.

It is done on purpose they are all like that plus or minus a couple of gallons, it gives you plenty to get to the next fueling station

Yes mine does this also, the fuel light comes on with under a 1/4 of a tank left.

Not only is the extra fuel there so you make it to the next filling station but it also provides cooling for the fuel.
