Intro of a new member.....

Im at a loss

I use pay @ the pump for diesel @ a local citgo station I currently use a AX Blue Cash its only for fuel purchaces so I can track my cost ... . currently Im not gaining anything Ill use ... like FF miles... . I want a good fuel card all I came across on the net are gas cards Im not sure if they cover diesel ???? Do they???

My only local choises are

Citgo... . NO OFFERS

Speedway/SA ... ... . big time offer

... 8% on GAS for 60 days then 4% there after on GAS there is a annually rate but its waived if you use the card like 9 times in a year ... I will fuel more than that so its no big deal

I wonder if diesel counts?

What do you all use ?

suggestions??

Other cards are avalible that have gas rewards no matter where you get your fuel 6% for 90 days then 3% there after I really like the pay @ the pump at citgo plus Im surronded by citgo stations so I may waive the extra benifits of the Speedway/SA card just to have the freedom to get my fuel anyware.

Thanks Guys

I use a Visa from Chase. They give me 3% reward on fuel, and 1% on all other purchases. I had one for Shell, and a Phillips 66. They gave me so much off per purchase of fuel. I didn't get anything when using it at other stations. Very hard to find a certain station when you're on the road.

citi bank platinum will give you 5% cash back at gas stations and supermarkets, and a few others. they put a cap on it at $300 though.

watch the fine print... I haven't been able to find a fuel/gas card that will work (as far as getting some % back) if using it for diesel fuel... . but then again, I haven't really been looking that hard, I'm sure there out there... :D

I get fuel at the Sunoco down the road from me, there always 10 to 20 cents a gallon cheaper than the stations on the main drag in town... Sunoco has a card that offers 5% on station purchases and 2% on all other purchases but diesel falls under the 2% for some reason... 2% is not worth my time to have another bill to deal with... I just use my debit card to get fuel...

I just signed up for the BP card because I always fuel at BP. 6% on fuel and 2% on all other purchases for the first 2 months, then 3 and 1% after that. $50 fuel card free for signing up, and another one if you spend 1000 on the card for anything in the first 2 months. I was really annoyed when I called up bankone and found out that it says it doesn't apply to diesel fuel :( Anyway I'm not sure if my station differentiates when they charge for it or not. Annoying to find out after the fact.

I have the Marathon Credit Card, 10% on Marathon gas AND diesel purchases for 90 days, 5% after that and 1% on all other purchases. Been using this card for aboiut 7 months now.

Wow thats alot of rebate There is a marathon on the way to work no pay at the pump but for 5% Ill walk inside

Ill just has to plan my fueling

Im looking in to it.

Marathon Oil Company • Ashland Inc. • Speedway SuperAmerica LLC

thats what the marathon page has @ the top I didnt know they were all the same company.

I doubt the marathon card will get a rebate at speedway/SA because they have there own card

I applied for the marathon fuel card thanks for all the help

I called them and they said the disclaimer doesnt say its not for diesel ... . not to professional but Ill take her word for it.

It's too bad marathon has just about the worst diesel out there. Consistently reported for violating minimum cetane ratings and personally had a set of ruined injectors due to Marathon's diesel. I admit that is a great rebate. I'd never fuel there again though.

I did more research. I called BPVISA and had them do some digging. Apparently the first person was wrong that I spoke with. They claim as long as it's bought at a BP retail fuel location, diesel counts toward the rebates. I just got the card yesterday, so we'll see soon as statements come if it's counting or not.

Marathon fuel for last 4 fill up and truck has never ran better

Just kidding I really cant tell a diffrence All I know is Im saving 10% for 2 mths and 5% for life ... also if you sign up in the store you attomatically get a $25 fuel card.

20c + Off a gallon cant beat that

I am using a discover gas card. I get 5% when I pay at the pump; and yes I check to make sure. If I go in the store and pay, then I am at the mercy of the clerk to ring it it as a gas / diesel purchase. Pay at the pump and the codes will most likely match.

I had a Amoco (now BP) card for years and enjoyed their 3% rebate. Back then they would automatically deduct the 3% from your statement every month, which was fantastic. Then a couple of years ago they changed to mailing you a BP gift card every time you accumulated $20 in rebates. This ticked me off, as I feel they took a very streamlined process and complicated it with these plastic gift cards. I'm sure BP felt they were losing that rebate money with people spending it on other things, and the gift cards ensure the money gets spent with BP. I ended up dropping their card and now have another rewards card giving me points towards a future vacation.

Flying J, Loves and some of the other truck stops give a samll rebate if you get their card and pay with cash.

I like the truck stops for the fuel quality though. They go through it fast so you know it's fresh. Good clean fuel is more important than a few pennies saved.

I use the CITIBANK platnum and get 5% on all fuel purchases... diesel or gas, plus 5% on groceries and drugs... . max out at $300 a year, but it works... Oo.
