I just ordered a check valve and I'm gonna put it on tomorrow. I developed a hard start a while back, and before I go and change the VP, i'm gonna rule this out first. Maybe it'll fix it. It was only like $26. It's located underneath the banjo bolt for the return line on the side of the VP as far as I know. Looks really easy enough to do. I'll keep y'all updated.

I too am curious about this. I have to crank for a few seconds to start now with the FASS, already done the HOBBS/oil pressure fix. Watching my f/p gauge it drops to 0 like a rock when I shut off, replaced the overflow and it would hold pressure longer (10 sec to bleed of to 0) and would restart with no excessive cranking, lasted about 3 starts then back to normal. Blew the overflow out with compressed air and then again 3 starts then long cranks and f/p drops like a rock.

Really? Thats weird. I wonder why that happened? Was dirt or something getting in there making it stick?

Well, I put in the new check valve and it didn't work. It was worth a shot. It was $26 and it took all of 30 seconds to put it in. So I guess it is that diaphram in the VP. I'll run it til it falls on its face because it still runs great. It just don't like to start.
