OK, which gauge makes the best estimate of fuel consumption and any one time? I would assume that lower EGT, lower Boost and hight fuel pressure are indicators of lower fuel consumption. Any of this right?

Several have mentioned that less than 10psi and 600-700 egt is the sweet spot... I try to stay there but I have too many hills...

At 70 - 75MPH on fairly flat ground I am at 8 PSI boost and 675 Pyro and consistantly average 19,

If I stay at 60 - 65 on the same road I am at 6/600 and can squeeze around 22 MPG, this is with 3. 55 rear and a 5 speed 2WD.

yeah the less boost and egt with out lugging the engine is best for mpg. . on my '96 i get 17. 5 at 55mph . . 4wd 410 gears and knobby tires..... 14 mpg if i speed . .

thanks
