Not necessary on a 12-valve with the P-pump, unlike the common rail & VP pump trucks the P7100 adds little heat to the fuel in normal operation. After driving my truck a couple hours the fuel lines are only warm to the touch, probably under 100F, and taking the fuel temperature down below that will provide no benefit. I actually have a coolant-heated fuel heater on my '98 to get the temperature up.
 
As the power goes up, so does the fuel temps being returned to the tank. Here in the desert, I have seen up to 160*F temps from my VP44.



From previous testing, fuel temp does hurt power.
