My truck(99CTD) was running fine until yesterday evening. It had been parked for about 1 hour and when I tried to start it all it would do is roll over but not even try to start. Dad had this problem with his 94 CTD back in the day and it turned out to be the solenoid valve in the fuel line. Could this be my problem and if so where is this solenoid located? Thanks,Scrap.

There is not an external fuel shut off on the 99, that function is built into the fuel injection pump(VP-44). Could be the lift pump (fuel transfer pump). Bump the starter and leave the switch on, you should be able to hear the pump run for about 20 seconds. If it is running, you need to determine if it is pumping, best way is with a gage connected to one of the ports in the top of the fuel filter housing, pump should put out about 12 psi max and any pressure should make the truck run. If you don't have a gage, look at the fuel filter, the line that runs forward from it connects to the injection pump with a banjo bolt. Get a wrench that fits that bolt and have someone bump the starter and while the pump is running , loosen the bolt, should be a good flow of fuel if pump is working. Tighten bolt while pump is running to keep air from entering system. bg
