My 99 has all the goodies, including the little readout with AVG. MGP, DTE, ect. . It seems that what ever the AVG. MPG is reading is how bad my fuel economy is. Hand Calculated its seems to be off by 3-4 miles to the gallon anyway. But when I got the truck it had just pulled a 40' flatbed loaded with gen-sets from florida to michigan and the AVG. MPG was readin 10. 3 and the truck would get lucky 300 miles on a tank of fuel. When I reset the little readout goin down the road it reastarts out din 28 and then comes back down and will settle in the 15- 17 MPG range. Now the truck gets easy over 400 miles on a tank of fuel... It seems to me this thing screws with the trucks computer and MAKES it go through more fuel then it ought to. . Now in the winter I expect lower MPG's anyway. But this was its behavior in the warmer weather. . Also just put on a new LP, air and fuel filters have been changed regulary. Anybody have this problem too or is it just me. . Thanks for any imput.
