Does any one have any insight to the fuel usage for the new dodge half ton pick up with a v8 gets. I have a friend that just bought a new 4 door dodge. He has had all kinds of trouble with it and it gets terrible mileage, 5. 5 to 8. or that is what he said. He has had it in the shop 4 times, one for the air compressor, a torque convertor, the next time for the frount pump, and finally very bad mileage. The dealer, 5 star, said that, i think, that they all run the way his does. No power until wound all the way out. He said that just a little throttle and the transmission will down shift. It wont ever spin the tires, now I realize that kind of driving will not net good mileage , but are they that sorry of a truck. He is going to try to lemon law it . thanks Jimk

Our dealership

has sold a large amount of the new half ton's. We have experienced very very few problems of any kind. In fact, they are probably the best quality from Dodge in a long time. Feedback on fuel mileage is almost exactly what the sticker says, and the 4. 7L may be a little light for towing, but powers the truck satisfactorily overall. I think your friend may be the only thing wrong with his truck. Why is burning rubber important?

New Dodge

My friend has a new half-ton 4x4 "crew cab" with the 4. 7L- he gets high teens all around with no towing- no problems except the rear springs which squeak loudly- the dealer is going to replace because they were installed wrong- other than that fit and finish look great- I personally do not care for the styling on the new trucks and if I was in the market for a gasser I would go elsewhere. I cannot get used to the front grille treatment- Ford did much better with the styling especially the Super Duty grille IMHO.
