Can I fuel at the big rig pumps at truck stops. The fuel filler neck on my 04. 5 3500 dually seems large enough to accept the nozzle. I pull a 39 foot Teton 5er and car pumps at the stops are a joke to get to.
I think the real joke here is the fact that to top off your truck, you'll spend 15 minutes standing there squeezing in 1/3 of a gallon per squirt then wait for the tank to finish foamin' so you can truly fill up the truck. Check out the fuel venting mod one of the guys on here devised which aids in your ability to top the truck off in a timely manner. The big filler neck is nice, but the design of the tank still causes long fill up times... .
The important thing is to be courteous to the big rig's. Fill as fast as you can and then pull up out of the way before going inside. If you give them a company name, truck number and most times have your license plate number handy you will also get a discount on fuel if you pay cash. The big thing is not to forget the truckers earn their living getting in and out of there fast.
Please note that if you fill up at the big truck islands in AZ, you will pay an additional $0. 08 / gal. tax that they 26,000+ lb. trucks have to pay. If you pay at the car/RV islands, you don't pay the additional tax.
