which filter do you wish to change.... I purchased a Lyle wrench for removing the water senor in the primary filter... and a 28 mm 6 pt socket for removing the lid to the secondary filter... I cracked each filter loose... and than opened the drain lines and let each drain.... BTW I bought extra hose and replaced the hose on the secondary filter so that it clears the chassis and axle of the truck... and use a hose on the primary filter... so that the fuel doesn't run down onto the drive shaft and splash all over....

I had to use a breaker bar with the socket on the secondary filter... to break it loose... and a large truck spin on filter wrench to remove/loosen the primary filter..

I found that the lid on the secondary filter was tight... and am considering a billet aluminum cap if when I change it the next time.... its again as tight.... I followed the directions in each filter box.... so that no unfiltered fuel would pass the secondary filter... that means don't pre-fill the body...

Once both were replaced.... I moved my start button to run..with my foot off the brake so that the system was powered up... you can hear the fuel pump start and run for a few seconds... I did this 5 or 6 times to cycle the pump and push all the air out of both filters, and take the air out of the fuel loop... than started the truck... it fired and ran normally but I ran it down the block and back to the driveway and than let it sit for 5 min for a leak check...

I use a software program called CAR CARE.... carcare.com I think... and recorded the change in the maintenance section of that software for my truck... I track all parts, part #'s, price I paid, and when installed... In the memo section I put where I bought the part so that later I can either track down another one... or compare prices...

I sort of jumped around... hope you get the overview....
