Been having some bad luck with fuel filters for the last 2 weeks, but pretty much figured out what's going on so as I'm driving home from work today I notice a really strong diesel fuel smell (raw fuel), but keep driving. Then I notice it even more, and then I notice a lady behind me puts on her windshield wipers, okay now I get real suspicious so as I try to get to the shoulder lane I see my fuel gauge go from 1/4 tank straight to the red line:--) , the big E! So I hit the Pacbrake come to a stop and get out to investigate, I opened the hood to see my fuel filter hanging down half way on the post! It seems all the fiddling around I did last week with my fuel filters must have caused the Prime Loc post to back it's way out of the mount, so basically the filter was on the screw post where it's supposed to be but the post was not, it had unscrewed almost completely off. Well I'm really at my wits end with this Prime Loc, seems to be causing more problems the good, may have to delete it from my signature soon.....

I certainly would. As you are finding out they just get in the way. With all the other work you've done on your truck changing the stock filter should be a piece of cake by now. :)
