I just installed a FASS and it is working great!!!

Can I remove the old lifter pump and fuel filter housing just to get it out of the way?

give some info on your truck. If it's a 99 then i would say no problem. A 2000 and 2001 i would say leave the filter for general purposes. that's just me but i'm sure everybody will chime in on what they think.

Just don't pull the mounting bracket for the lift pump. It doubles as a cover for a big hole in the side of the block where the mechanical fuel pump used to go. There is a big sheet of rubber behind the bracket and it hides the hole.

Other than that I see no problem, unless you want it to look stock. Heck you might be able to sell it on ebay for some $$ and defray the cost of the FASS.
