i think that i am gonna replace the banjo bolts on the fuel filter housing (the last two to go!!) but i am curious as to what size the ports are on the filter housing. are they 1/4 inch NPT or something different? i need to service the fuel filter this time around anyhow, so i might as well get rid of them.

On your 1999, the banjo bolts are metric thread M12x1. 5 O-ring. Thus there is no taper or anything like pipe threads. They are straight threads that require a washer or o-ring to seal. The test plug holes on the other hand are 1/8" NPT for your 1999 fuel canister.

ok... good info, but what do i need then to get rid of the banjo bolts and just have an elbow on each side to plumb into my 1/4NPT and 3/8 pipe?

Without knowing exactly what you have... I'd say an adapter to go from M12x1. 5 to 1/4" NPT (male or female?).

But good luck cause I extensively searched for such adapters once and only really found one place to get them from. But I was trying to find 3/8" NPT adapters. The 1/4" may be easier to get. And they wouldn't sell em to me. My local hydraulic shop could order from them however. The place was called Adaptall.

Try a local hydraulic fitting shop/hose maker for best results.
