Truck lurching in reverse.

New transmission, new performance torque converter or just a rebuild?

For something that should be so simple, I seem to have to work at getting the plastic cap to start the threads after inserting a new filter. Of cousre, it is not in an easy place to get to but that is likely a secondary consideration. Anybody have any ideas. The new filter seems to fit very tightly in the cap and that might be working against me as I try to begin turning the cap and filter in the housing and trying to get the threads to 'catch'.

I lubricate the filter/stand tube Oring with fuel so it will slide down easier. You must put some downward pressure on the cap while turning it to get it started.

you aren't by chance using a NAPA gold filter are you? for over 7 years i used Donaldsons filters, with zero issues. ran out of my supply recently, used a NAPA, and had extreme difficulty with the changeover. almost like it was several millimeters larger

I might be having the same size issue as I never had a problem prior. It just does not seem to fit right. Others fit perfectly.

Thanks everybody. I tried a different filter and it popped right in. No issues. Must have been a filter that was slightly out of spec.
