 I have been changing my own oil for the last few months now and I just read a article on this thread about fuel filter changes. My question is how often should I change my fuel filter, where is the fuel filter, and is that where I find my water build up?

Your fuel filter is most likely in a silver looking canister with a yellow flip open valve to drain the canister before removing the filter..... As for when to change the filter DC and the owners manual says every 15000 miles(on a 3rd generation) You never did say what you have... . Hope that helps

is that where I find my water build up?

When you drain the canister to change the filter, use a clear soda bottle or something clear. You'll see the water separate from the fuel if there's any water in there. I've never seen any water in my '03 and I never drain it between filter changes. Some guys drain the fuel filter canister fairly often just to be on the safe side.

Just to elaborate on the earlier post, the fuel filter is on the driver's side of the engine.
