Try this again..... darn isp... . Grrr

Curious to get feeback :-{} when changing the fuel filter is it better the fuel and engine be warm or does not matter... .

Does not matter, but this time of year I do it on a warm engine.

1) it gives me the valvecover to warm my hands on.

2) it cranks over easier for the restart.

Personnal opinion, I do it hot just after shutdown. I feel it gets the gunk if any churned up in oil and flows out better when drained. Consequently getting more crude out on oil change. :D Or it coudl be just like to burn my fingers!!!

LSMITH ~ Your right I must be getting sleepy or just OLD!!!! Retiring on January 3rd maybe got other things on my mind you think? Oo.

Behr ~ Let's try this again, it don't matter cold or hot. :D

I want to thank everyone for their comments. I will be attempting this job on the weekend for the first time. I kinda suspected temp would not be a serious factor like when doing engine oil change... but was just curious with the fuel filter change because of the plastic cap.

Ps. Congrads on the retirment in the new year Bob..... I have a few more years to do :( before I can do the same.....

Be aware that the threads on the plastic cap are very easy to cross-thread when you go for the reinstall. I have to carefully spin mine backwards ("open" direction) while gently pressing down, when I feel it "drop", continue pressing down and begin spinning the "close" direction. If it is crossthreading you will feel extra resistance almost right away. If you get a couple of easy turns, then you're doing it right. Be careful, but you'll be glad you did it yourself, and carry a spare on any long trips!

Behr/LSMITH ~ Thanks and believe me when I say my wife, my truck, my 5er, and last but not least, my Lab are looking forward to it!!!Oo.
