It's a son-of-a-gun gettin' old- especially if yer retarded... oopps... I MEANT retired. I kept putting off the filter change and finally did it today.

The filter looked like my liver did years ago, when I tried to raise Budweiser stock!

It was pretty dirty, considering it had 20k miles on it. I'll not let that happen again. I'll write myself a note- if I can remember! :)

I also changed the air filter. I noticed the 'minder was pretty far into the yellow. The diffs are next... I'll keep you updated. :p

20,000 miles on your fuel filter :--) I change mine every 5000 and it looks pretty bad. I'm surprised fuel got threw with 20,000 on it.

By the way, were you successful in bringing up the value of that stock?

I had a '99 CTD and changed all lubricants and filters on a regular basis. It must be this thin air up here in the high desert that is affecting my judgement or more aptly, my common sense. I know it ain't my advanced years or the attendant CRS ;)

Regarding the Budweiser: Doc told me to put it down or it will put me down! Darn!

And I won't forget the transfer case... thanks!

Uh oh, the full moon is just around the corner... Hellz bellz!

The color of the fuel filter does not tell you if it is dirty or not. Don't believe it? Put new one in and change at 500 miles. It will be black. Sounds kinda like the motor oil... .

I drain the water trap regularly and change the fuel filter at 20,000 - 30,000 miles. If you think about it, this tells you that I am getting pretty clean fuel to start with to get this kind of mileage out of the filter. :D

Yeah, the oil gets dirty quick. I'll change the oil & filter at 5k. I'm going to change the fuel filter at 10k, just like I did with my '99...

I'm in a dusty area here, so it looks like air filter changes at 6 months. As mentioned, I changed it yesterday.

Enjoy the day!

When I change the fuel filter at 10k it still had some original color showing on the pleats
