Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Fuel filter change.

Ok, I'm a bonehead. I got a CD manual but I still can't find exactly what to do to change the fuel filter and this this looks like a bear to just get to it. Can someone hold my hand here at bit... . or kick my butt. I searched the site a bit but didn't find anything that was step by step. Truck is a 97 2500 2wd.

Thanks Scott! I have the new filter but didn't open it until I read your post and sure enough, instructions were in there but that link has even better instructions. Again, thanks.

Drain what you can through the WIF. Cover the filter with plastic freezer bag to help control the mess. Don't forget to lube the rubber gasket. I used new Delo engine oil. Crack an injector line and start pumping the prime button. Sometimes I'd pump 50-60times to prime.

leave the filter loose and pump the primer until you get it full of fuel.

Already got it back on... . filled up the canister with a small funnel and long hose when I got it back in under the filter base. I drained it threw the drain tube and had very little fuel in the canister when I pulled it out. To tell ya the truth, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Figure I'll just open the bleeder on top to prime it.....
