It's not that difficult to do. Toughest part is getting the new filter primed and that varies with model. Once you replace the filter (if your's is a 1997(?) or newer) just bump the starter but don't start the engine to let the lift pump fill the filter canister. Could take more than once to fill. Check for leaks and your good to go.
