How do you get to the fuel filter? The 1 1/8 nut on top seems like it's just gonna bust off and the slots in the flange don't look like they could take much load. What am I missing? No comments about I. Q's or lack there of please.
Its on with about 25 lbs to crack it, the gasket makes the first half turn pretty tight but it opens by hand just like a Jar of Jiffy creamy peanut butter, no make that chunky
When you said IQ's or lack of that lit of the bulb in my head and made me think of Whitmore but then I fall in to that category too. They are on tight. Be sure to lube the o-ring with diesel.
The cover on my 2001. 5 fuel filter DID crack. I was using a 1/2" ratchet at the time if I remember right, and it split the plastic hole out where the ratchet went in. It never did leak though, but I still remember that sinking, queezy feeling.
