Changing the fuel filter is very straightforward. Place a container under the filter drain hose. Open the valve at the bottom of the filter and let the cylinder drain. Use a hex head socket so you do not damage the plastic cover and simply unscrew the top. (I don't remember the size) Lift out the filter which should come along with the top. The filter is a fairly tight fit but it will come out w/o too much trouble. Remove the o'ring at the top of the cover and replace it. Clean out the basin with a lint free rag. Attach the new filter to the cover and reinstall the filter and cover. Tighten to a snug fit. Remember the cover is plastic. You do not need to pour diesel fuel in the filter bowl. Close the filter drain valve. Turn the key as if you are starting the engine but do not crank the engine. You may need to do this a couple of times. The engine should then start with no trouble.
