Tracked down a fuel leak at water in fuel sending unit that has a drain valve on it at bottom of fuel filter. Seems to be leaking at wires to plastic area. This is a factory cartrige type with big threaded hole in bottom for sender/drain valve. Does any one know if i can get a filt for it temporary with no hole to plug since its a strange thread and i cant find a plug for.

Have you tied a big rig shop for the sensor or a plug? I can get that kind of stuff from the local Peterbilt shop.

There is an "O" ring on the water sensor valve. Be sure that it is lubricated when put on with a new filter change. A light grease like lubriplate or vaseline is good for this. It might be loose or pinched. Its a good idea to carry an extra "water in oil" plastic sensor unit with you as sometimes the wires get old at the bottom. Over tightening the plastic valve can result in cracking, also sometimes the "milking valve" at the bottom gets hung up, but this does not happen too often. The "O" ring mentioned can be purchased from any big truck shop or Cummins agency. It comes with the new filter anyway.

Been down that road....

The WIF (water in fuel) sensor is a Fleetguard part. Any Cummins distributor can get it... I doudt any have it unless they do alot of Dodge business. Dodge will be Double the cost. I got mine very quick and cheap from none other the Geno's Garage.
